Bans Sale Of Gas-Powered Cars In State By 2035
I wonder if my bookie will give me odds on this.

This is so unnecessary.
As advancements in batteries increase along with production scale ,there will be a tipping point where an electric car is cheaper than an internal combustion car.
When that tipping point happens people will shift over on their own via a simple economic decision. We don't need to decree this like a king or dictator. Let it happen with natural market forces.

I bet it's a lot of fun to be as crazy as a progressive. You can say random nonsense, and people cheer you on. Create problems, and then spend shite tons of time and money trying to solve them...and people love you for it.

Guys in the next 15-20 years expect a mass exodus from California

This is a ploy to keep Californians from leaving the State.
Since Electric cars cant drive that far.

In general, this is a meaningless act by him that I don’t have a problem with. It’s pandering for sure. I’d like to see us protect the environment (though I’m not sure EVs do that very well either) and improve air quality.
But as everyone has said, it’s not an attainable goal, and likely exceeds his authority.
I’m mostly fine with it because it pushes the unions closer to the right.

So Californians rush to buy generators and diesel/gasoline tanks to generate electricity to run their cars when the utilities black out. Makes sense governor numbnuts

CA has extremely high gas taxes per gallon. They are just going to give all that money up?

My uncle has a country place that no one knows about. He says it used to be a farm before the motor law.

New car sales in 2035 will drop 90+ percent. Used car sales will see a marked increase.

From the comfort of my home today I issued an edict making the existence of unicorns mandatory.

Newsom is effectively throwing shite at the walk with this EO and probably not even looking to see if it sticks.
An ideological promise made through EO when this joker won’t even be in office when it takes effect is nothing more than self-serving pandering to his base.
The most populous state in the union ain’t forcing 100% EVs when their grid is already in shambles.
If they really want to double down and make this reality, they’ll serve as a fine example for the rest of us of how to more fully wreck the infrastructure that taxpayers pay for and depend on.
