My question is this….
Why make this boneheaded move when your stock was at a 52 week high?
Yeah, the chief people officer, whatever the frick that is, seems to be taking credit for the woke campaign, but the Belgians should carpet bomb the entire CSuite.

Ed; apparently I had the wrong person. Not the CPO

Because it's the trend currently. That and she lives in a bubble.

I am going to have a talk with my 84 y/o mother in the retirement home to whom I bring her a case every two weeks or so. Not sure if she will be willing to give up Bud Lite nor I will be willing to deprive her of it.

I enjoy a Budweiser but I prefer the Banquet beer anyway so this won’t impact me

It's also bitter as shite, just like other Bud products.

Corona is a far superior beer.
Corona is also owned by Anheuser Busch.

If you're boycotting Bud Light, then you need to boycott Corona, Modelo, Michelob, Stella Artois, Natty Light and a bunch of lesser known brands too.

I’m starting to see that the conservative base also has some clout. We have watched libs try to boycott anything and everything they don’t like. I have been wondering when everyone else stands up and plays the same game. I believe it has begun.

Again, for those who are continuing to post old news: Constellation Brands completes acquisition of Grupo Modelo's US beer business
quote:

Constellation Brands Inc., Victor, N.Y., announced that it completed its acquisition of Grupo Modelo's U.S. beer business from Anheuser-Busch InBev, Leuven, Belgium, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction includes full ownership of Crown Imports LLC, which provides Constellation with complete, independent control of all aspects of the U.S. commercial business; a state-of-the-art brewery in Nava (Piedras Negras), Mexico; an exclusive perpetual brand license in the United States to import, market and sell Corona and the Modelo brands Crown currently sells; and the freedom to develop brand extensions and innovations for the U.S. market.

The Crown portfolio includes Corona Extra, Corona Light, Modelo Especial, Negra Modelo, Pacifico and Victoria from Mexico as well as Tsingtao from China.

if you buy a Corona, Modelo, or any of the other brew’s mentioned above in the US, rest assured that AB/InBev doesn’t get a penny of your hard-earned wages

I asked my Marketing class how do you recover? I don't know. The best idea Ive seen from the gurus is "I'd like to buy you a beer." which is basically an apology tour. Nothing I have seen from Bud Light indicates that they will apologize.

Tylenol 1982 is the biggest marketing recovery in history, it wasn't from a self-inflicted marketing strategy though.

This is awful. We may have witnessed the death of an iconic brand that has put forth some of the best marketing in history.

The solution to ending the woke capital movement is to bring back the look book.

I wonder if that will be the case. I haven't watched a game of NFL football in 6 years, including the superbowl, and I don't foresee ever watching again.

Even if it goes back to normal they will have lost millions if not billions. Pretty much the opposite of what you hire a marketer to do.
