No doubt and this is not pointed out at you bit IMO this is case study stuff which is good but scaring the shite out of people is going to destroy our Economy. I have turned off the TV.

Scaring people? This would alleviate much of the concern.

This is at least timidly in the direction of what would be the most helpful - random testing of population samples.

No where near enough data to be putting this garbage out there.

The cruise liner is a classic case study

3711 mostly older passengers, in an enclosed space

Everyone was tested

19% were infected

7 deaths

So if the CT study shows 10% infections across a multi-generational spectrum, then the 19% among the elderly in a confined space seems to confirm that only 10% of the population will be infected, and only 4.7% of those will be critically ill

I don't see how saying 10% of the population has this and doesn't know it is very scary. It actually makes me more optimistic that we can take the lid off the quarantine sooner than we thought.

I don’t know if 10% have it or have had it. (800 million). It is asymptotic for most people. I hope you you are right but I think Government and Media would use that 10% number to quarantine more not less IMO. And the only way to build antibodies is for everyone to get it along with a Corona shot. Good discussion.

I have regular bloodwork in five weeks. She’s into preventative medicine and I think I’ll ask If she’ll consider testing me for antibodies. I work in a nursing home and the info could be helpful for me.

I don't know. I don't know if the patients that eventually present with severe symptoms at one point were asymptomatic patients that would have had GGO on CT had we scanned them earlier.

This is the question that the OP invites.

I don’t think we have an antibodies test yet.

What shows up on a CT scan to verify the virus present?

Can't read?

This screening is a good indicator because the scan provides a quick and efficient picture of any white spots in the lungs. Afterwards, a real corona test provides further information

Yeah that would be encouraging

Is there any way of telling how long you've had it? The incubation period might have some people on edge after they test positive

Here is a practical solution. If you're one of the many recently unemployed show up at X location to take a test to get your stimulus check.

It looks like a Brussel sprout on a CT scan.

And, if that's the case, we should be pushing the spread of this disease as close to the limit that our healthcare system can handle rather than trying to limit the spread to minimize the throttling of our economy.

no need to push.

beach goers and fundamentalist preachers have it covered.

re the ct:
this idea has promise.
