the study in the italian village that I mentioned in the OP sort of corroborates that a lot of people are asymptomatic at least a little

And, if that's the case, we should be pushing the spread of this disease as close to the limit that our healthcare system can handle rather than trying to limit the spread to minimize the throttling of our economy.
Still, I don't think testing all patients for infection is the best approach.
We should be doing random, geographical antibody testing of the general population to get an understanding of where we actually are.

problem is we really have no data to be able to accurately assess how to do this because we have no idea who has and who has not had it

I don't know. I don't know if the patients that eventually present with severe symptoms at one point were asymptomatic patients that would have had GGO on CT had we scanned them earlier.

No doubt and this is not pointed out at you bit IMO this is case study stuff which is good but scaring the shite out of people is going to destroy our Economy. I have turned off the TV.
