I'm telling the previous poster why there are responses that are in poor taste.

And you’re probably still wrong. Gallows humor isn’t always because people are scared of something happening to them.

The virus can be really bad and we still need to get back to work. Both things can be true at the same time. It doesn’t have to be one or the other.

The jokes don’t piss me off. The blatant dishonestly and denial do.

And I’ve been a proponent of getting back to work to prevent additional pain and suffering, but the blatant denial needs to stop.

My post was a reply to OP, I hadn't read your posts.

But don't let me stop you from feeling self-important. It seems to be all you have going for you.

Or what? And you think arguing on a message board and white knighting against “blatant denial” is going to accomplish....what, exactly?

Nothing that anyone says on this entire website will impact the virus or the policies surrounding it.

Blatant denial about the models being wrong, or something else?

Blaming this on 'Rona seems like a stretch.
If this "Gotta cut yer leg off baw" is related to 'rona..why is he the only case?

Correlation does not equal causation.

Did you not read the thread?

“The medication did this”
“Must be an underlying issue”
Etc.

But if you glance at the headline and that is your immediate response then you need to re-evaluate your thoughts on this issue

I am.
Maybe I read it wrong? Maybe the headline...leg amputated due to COVID. was misleading?
So he's saying 'rona had nothing to do with it?
Great! Then we agree.

Pointless arguments in this thread considering this was the actual headline:

quote:

Broadway star Nick Cordero's leg must be amputated due to complications from coronavirus

The thread title. That wasn't the headline.

Explain to us how COVID had nothing to do with it. Feel free to go into as much detail as you want.

This place is becoming more pathetic by the hour. The guy has a young child and his odds of making it right now aren’t very good.

He was so sick he had to be placed on ECMO. A machine designed to bypass your lungs and do the work of oxygenation because your lungs can’t function. This is likely what caused the ischemia to his leg.

Did people really read this headline and think someone with a blood clot was being diagnosed with COVID after the fact?

Y’all really need to re-evaluate yourselves and think about who are the sheep here.

This x 100.

Decent guy going about life. Very talented actor - saw him perform in A Bronx Tale on Broadway. Pretty wife and young baby. Lost a leg and may lose his life and he's nothing but a joke on here.

But, god forbid, a testy tropical depression forms in the Gulf and comes ashore in Louisiana. With literally days to leave the path of the storm, the people who don't are showered with "Thoughts and prayers." "Stay strong, baw." "We're with you, baw." EVERYONE is a victim in Louisiana in those situations.

You may not like the politics of COVID, but it's not the fricking flu and there are innocent victims. Even "Yankees" who live in New York City.

With that said, I'm off to play golf. Thank goodness, Gov. Coonman hasn't shut down the courses here in Virginia.

God day to all. Even those liberal Yankees.

The burden of proof is always on the claimant.
Explain how 'rona had something to do with it in any direct way.

Hopefully they figure out how to help him but lots of people lose legs. I would also like to add he’s already out kicked his coverage once maybe he can do it again.
