It’s a common myth that the tank shown in this meme is the “Porche King Tiger”. This myth centers around the turret shown in the meme. The myth is centered around the two different turrets tried on the Königstiger. There is the production version, also erroneously called the “Henschel” turret…
Even though this turret is known as the “Henschel” turret, it was actually designed and built by Krupp.
And the one shown in the meme, which was used on a limited number of vehicles during trials. This Turret is known as the “Porsche” turret …
But Porsche did not design nor build this turret. It was, like the Henschel” turret, a Krupp design.
As for the hull of the Königstiger, that indeed was a Henschel. As for Porsche, even though they submitted a design for the heavy tank to replace the Tiger I, their design was ultimately rejected. And their design was only for the hull of a heavy tank, the same as Henschel and their submittal. Neither designed a turret. Instead Krupp designed two turret types, one of which, erroneously called the “Henschel”, was adopted for use while the also Krupp built “Porsche” turret was rejected.
The main reason the “Porsche” turret was rejected was due to the curvature in the lower front of the turret. This designed created what is called a “shot trap”, meaning a round that hit the turret there would ricoche downward into the hull.

Sorry, I was well into my bourbon and Coke last night and kinda nerded out on that one.
(But my point still stands that there’s no such thing as a Porsche King Tiger)

I have no problem with you nerding out and providing detailed information and data on armor and ordnance. I'm similarly into the details of all the variants of the P-40 flown by the AVG and the 14th Air Force 23rd Fighter Group just because of my love for Claire Chennault and all things even remotely related to LSU.

(am now tempted to show a picture of one of the roughly quarter million Jeeps made by Ford and call it a "Willys" just to make Darth's head explode)
