Please let this happen. PRETTY PLEASE.
I’m guessing you’re one of the people who think “NATO funding” is some common pot that each country draws from?
Besides, only an act of Congress or a 2/3rds Senate vote can withdraw us from NATO. That isn’t happening and President Trump cannot do it on his own.

The question should be how does being a member of NATO benefit the United States in 2026?
We sure as shite like to use NATO facilities for basically all of our operations and deployments outside of the Western hemisphere.

Trump's been threatening to pull out of NATO for ten years now.
This is like Kamala Harris saying, "If you don't do what I want, I'm going to say something stupid."

$0 USD fund other NATO members militaries.
Posted on 1/16/26 at 1:39 pm to LetsGoBrandon
And that will be the end of NATO because the other countries have no real militaries and don’t pay their dues regularly.

Would be an impeachment-level offense. FWIW

US contributions to NATO go into NATO's common budgets (civil, military, and investment programs) for shared infrastructure, operations (like command structures, exercises, and logistics on the Eastern Flank), and specific initiatives, supporting collective defense, while the US also funds its own large-scale deployments and capabilities that benefit the alliance indirectly, creating a shared security environment. The US pays about 16-22% of these common funds, which cover things like NATO HQ, command structures, and shared military equipment (e.g., AWACS), with the rest coming from other allies.

POTUS doesn’t have the ability to do that anyway.

Yes, as by far the largest user of common NATO installations, we pay a larger share of the administrative costs for these shared bases and logistics.
$0.00 goes to any other countries own military.
You realize we’d be paying this same amount regardless right? It’s not like we aren’t going to forward position assets in Europe if we withdrew from NATO.

What is the high crime or misdemeanor? Be specific.

He could do it effectively by invading.

Will you pull out of NATO if it doesn't help you acquire Greenland,' a reporter asked the president outside the White House on Friday.
Trump warned: 'We're going to see. NATO has been dealing with us on Greenland, we need Greenland for national security very badly. If we don't have it we have a very big hole in terms of national security, especially in terms of the Golden Dome.'
????
Did you read the article OP?

Haha didnt trump just ask that we up military spending to 1.5 trillion from last years 850 billion?
Dont act like you care about military spending

I mean that’s not happening either but even that doesn’t automatically remove us from NATO. Greece and Turkey have fought wars while being members of NATO.
I do agree that a military invasion of Greenland without congressional approval would be impeachable and removable, but that’s also fantasy.

French and British nukes keep Russians out of west Europe.
Russia under Putin wanted to join NATO during the GWB presidency and they told him no. Setting aside their complete impotency to pull it off, if Putin wanted to take Europe why would he have been trying to join an alliance with them?
Based on the rhetoric from Victoria Neuland and the neocons relative to Ukraine it seems far more likely to me they wanted to take down Russia than the reverse.
Either way this isn’t 1978 and Soviet tanks aren’t rolling through the Fulda gap.
Other than the money laundering operation the globalists demand continues in Ukraine Russia isn’t a strategic concern of the United States from any logical and self interested perspective.
Our concerns are:
1) domestic globalists
2) maintaining reserve currency status
3) debt service wall
4) China
Anything else is superfluous.
