So does this establish precedent to reclassify these platforms as publishers?

I don't know, but at least something is happening.

It doesn’t change anything at the moment. It’s a request for the FCC to reinterpret the law.

Where you net neutrality baws at now?

It is funny to think a lot of the people saying let the free market roam for net neutrality are the same ones who think we need big govt to protect us from censorship.

It’s not funny, because this is fricking stupid.

This is moving the internet toward more free market and away from crony protectionism.

Is it really “censorship” if it’s a company? Private or public? I assumed what we speak of as censorship was when a government commanded it.

What’s the cause of action against Twitter banning you right now?

Can you sue the newspaper for not printing your letter to the editor?

Removing 230 just means I can sue twitter for you slandering me and them publishing it. If anything, this will lead to more censorship, not less.

I don't think anyone care about there being censorship. The problem most see with this is the one sided nature of the current censorship

But that won’t be addressed by removing 230.

That will be addressed by heightened by antitrust scrutiny on Big Tech buying smaller tech and Google and Apple limiting the growth of platforms through their App Store distribution networks. That’s how you get the free market to truly operate.

I'll take your word on it. I really haven't followed this very closely. I just know the outcome republicans are looking for.

I would love for this to have teeth and hold up. I do remember another EO having to do with social media that apparently had no teeth because their behavior didn’t change. Let’s hope this will do some good.

How is it that there are STILL people who flip this on its head as you just did?

I don't want the government to do jack shite on this subject OTHER than stop letting these companies use government protection based on the theory they are pure platforms at the same time as they do NOT act as platforms. IN OTHER WORDS>...........that's LESS government.
