Enforce it then.

It was illegal for the colonies to break away from England, too.

It didn't keep the colonists from leaving. If the South had a stronger economy and military then they would have won independence.

While I'm all for Texas lately, I'm not sure I can support secession from the USA. Now if California and NY would like to leave the USA ... well... BYE!

It doesn't matter anyway because the Dems control the elections.

This role play is going to be a huge waste of time. Purple Texas has a better than decent chance of electing Beatoff and yall think you're going to move to independence.

It may not happen immediately, but it isn’t illegal.

If Texas left (which is a bad idea on its own), it would be stupid to take the smaller states with us. Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and other southern states are just welfare states that drag the country down.

Not if those states abolish welfare. If you want a free ride you need to move to a blue state. People here need to work in order to have what they want.

The parasites can GTFO.

Texas
Louisiana
Nebraska
The Dakotas
Montana
Idaho
Arkansas
Florida
South Carolina
Tennessee
Kentucky
Alabama
West Virginia
Oklahoma

And hopefully a revamped few others will get on board.

Time for a divorce. Rural states and big red states need to be under their own and away from PA, NJ, CA, NY, WA, and OR and MI.

The politicians are so screwed up in Louisiana that we would probably ask to be a colony of France again.

Havent you heard. Biden and the democrats want to end oil and gas. Why would they want Texas dirty fossil fuels?

I’m sorry, but I’m not buying what they are selling on that site. The feds just won’t recognize and then what? How do you propose Texas moves forward to force the issue? The US doesn’t have to fight. They simply blockade the ports in Texas, which the US says is their territorial waters, and there is no shipping. They then tell Mexico no shipping through there. Texas is completely isolated. No bullets need to fire. It’s a matter of too great of importance. The US won’t let them leave particularly after SCOTUS says they have no right to leave, which they would.

Did you miss the part where Texas accounts for almost 1/3 of the US refinery capacity? How long would the US last if Texas shut that down?

Things in America are not going to get better without a national divorce.

Would get a lot better if the secessionists fricked off and died.

Which will all happen well before any secession.

Thankfully.

If you removed Permian Basin production and Houston's refining from the national supply, gas would shoot well over $10/gallon within a week, grinding the U.S. economy to a near halt. The U.S. would be plunged into a depression without our energy.
