Make them all go through the legal immigration steps. Then they can vote. Only one Representative for 50 years then one senator.

You’re incredibly stupid, they prop up the rest of the country with their resources. We should be thankful they are even talking about it, would be a windfall for the U.S.!

My guess is that’s why they want out. They are tired of it.

Alberta has a population about the same as Oregon. Oregon has 5 representatives and 2 senators.

Alberta is one of the most conservative (by Canadian standards with isn’t saying much).

But that is 4.2m people who are used to government healthcare…… not sure how they would integrate.

Regarding congressional apportionment, I inputted Alberta as the 51st state at this website and it calculated that their five reps would be taken from California, Colorado, Oregon, Minnesota, and Montana.

Alberta is full of baws.

The oiler probably just want access to American hockey talent after seeing the recent games. They know American hockey is stacked and Canadian hockey is frocked.

Everything is relative soy he question is how liberal or conservative are they on our scale. Also, what resources are they bringing in? What is it going to cost us to manage this territory

Why would we want to add another lib cucked state to the union.

You should do some basic research before posting. Alberta is very rich in oil and ag. And is the most politically conservative Province in Canada. There is no love lost between Alberta and Ontario.

Think Texas vs Cali.

Not Correct. Though its the highest in Canada it would rank top 15 at 84K in US Dollars about even with Texas

They are also super conservative unlike the rest of Canada.

By Canadian standards which translates roughly to Oregon.

By American standards they are objectively liberal.

I can't believe I have to keep telling people this, but Alberta and other so called "conservative" areas of Canada are only "Conservative" by Canadian standards, and that is very, VERY different.

There have been many polls on this. They would still overwhelmingly vote for a Democrat if in the US.

Ontario and Quebec can form the new Canada with the US mainland connecting to Alaska, maybe throw them a bone and give them Greenland
