No doubt ice is cheap, only a fool would spend that much on a cooler.

Why would any company wade into those choppy waters of a political hot button issue, other than due to the personal agenda of someone in a position of authority (like Patagonia)? They’re selling a benign product essentially unrelated to the issue at hand. Stay out of it and profit. They will soon realize that they stepped in an ant pile.

It’s a fricking cooler. It says I like cold drinks and avoiding food poisoning. That people were spending a fortune for their cooler to say something, and are now debating destroying them because of what they say is.... well... nonsense.

The only thing sillier than the company might be the consumer

This is on par (or worse) than Ace Hardware’s decision to drop advertisement in Laura Ingraham’s show.

Uh, Ace backed off that decision real quick when Ace customers (like me) confirmed we would no longer frequent their stores. Same will happen to Yeti and it’s base.

These are such stupid and poorly thought out decisions. A foundational concept of business involves knowing your customer.

ORCA coolers are made in the USA. The owner is an avid hunter and fisherman. Plants in Nashville and Ohio. There is an LSU plug in the about page video.

bullshite. Igloo says those things. Yeti (pre-2nd amendment fiasco) said, ‘I’m loading my truck with my Yeti cooler filled with food and drinks. My yeti keeps things cold for 3 days, I may not see civilization until then.’ Yeti has now permanently lost this very loyal group, and will have to replace it with people who load their Yeti filled with soy milk into their Subaru.

I’m Curious how this is going to affect all the outdoor shows they sponsor. I’d be willing to bet a large majority of them will be shopping their spot to other less idiotic companies.

Where do I fit in? I have a Yeti, which is apparently now anti 2A, but it was purchased and given to me as gift from Halliburton. No side will like me for keeping it

ETA.
Although I don’t think they were ever an official NRA sponsor, just a vendor at their events this was still dumb as shite on Yeti’s behalf. I won’t be burning my cooler or smashing my Tumbler anytime I soon because I’m too much of a cheapskate, but who is giving Yeti their marketing advice?

That being said, I wonder how many people boycotting Yeti are driving a truck built by a company bailed out from a vote by anti NRA and 2A politicians.

There has to be an agenda behind the decision. Why else would they alienate their base like that? It makes zero sense. They had to have known the backlash they would get.

They only reason I can think of why they did it was to cater to the "mountain bike, hiking, granola" crowd who also buys their stuff.

I get it, but to cater to one over another doesn’t make long term sense. I think, like a lot of these decisions, it was naively considered and poorly executed.
