Boom. GOP just flipped McAllen, texas. A city that is 85% hispanic.

I had a post on here earlier about Omaha. These are the tea leaves. I am cautiously waiting on the fall elections in Virginia to see what they hold.
ETA: the congressional elections in McAllen were much narrower in 2020 than they usually are too.
One usually is 40-70 points in favor of democrats but was only 30 points in 2020. The other is normally 15-30 points in favor and Dems only won it by 3 in 2020.

I used to live in the Rio Grande Valley, to say it is blue is an understatement. This is not good for the Democrats.

It’s a very conservative Blue. Their US rep (Henry Cuellar) is probably the most conservative Dem in the house. Most of my customers down there are pretty conservative.

The middle class, blue collar Hispanic in Texas is the next group of GOP stalwarts. The love their families, they go to church, they coach their kids teams, hunt and fish and own firearms, and they want their kids to have a better life. They serve in the military. And they damn sure don’t want any handouts.
This group is “woke” as you would say, to the BS of the Democrats.
We need to do more to target these people. They are who will keep Texas Red!
