Bongino spends an entire hour explaining how everything connects together on this. Extreme shorthand version below.
Deep state and media going after Guillani because he is a threat to expose former ambassador to the Ukraine's involvement in protecting Soros funded "anti-corruption agency" from being investigated for misdirecting four million dollars of foreign aid. Also the lawyer in Washington D.C. who was raided by the FBI on the same day Guillani was is the lawyer for Soros's top rival in the energy business in the Ukraine who the same ambassador pressured Ukrainian officials to arrest. The Hunter Biden/Burisma contract is also tied up in all of this.

I listened to the entire Bongino Podcast about it, and its a great listen - but you are right. I think the fact that this story is so complex and deep is a feature, not a bug. It makes it too hard to explain what is going on in laymans terms.

My point is that it doesn't matter because no one will do anything about it. Republicans will huff, puff, and stomp their feet on TV and then roll over like they always do while the left continues to attempt to jail their political enemies

its about destroying all the evidence, that is all they care about, putting conservatives in jail on fake trumped up charges and lies is just an added bonus
remember the raid on the clinton foundation where more then 150k documents were seized along with hard drives and computers, it never crashed but never landed anywhere. mid flight the plane number was changed and it vanished from all records.

Here's a flow chart done by Glenn Beck that lays it all out (from Oct. 2019).
Whatever you think of Beck, this "chalkboard" session is by far the best explanation of all the Ukraine stuff.
It's fascinating and disturbing and is consistent with everything Bongino has been laying out for the last 4 years.

My question is why is the FBI going after Guillani? This won't make him shut up unless the FBI now has all the evidence. Is the purpose to discredit him? With that said, Guillani has got to have other contacts with copies of the evidence.

You are right. Until the GOP gets some assets in the DOJ and FBI and start going after Democrats nothing will happen.

I believe you are correct. This is why Mary McCord was just hired as a amici curia to the FISA courts. She knows where the bodies are buried and where to cover up and destroy evidence.
Meanwhile the FBI is getting FISA warrants rubber stamped again like old times under the Obama administration to spy on their political rivals.

Well Trumps problem with getting those “assets” into the FBI and DOJ was that the Senate wouldn’t confirm just anybody he nominated. It had to be somebody who was part of the “swamp”- that would just maintain status quo and not ruffle feathers- ie Sessions and Barr.
For any Republican President to be able to get true “patriots” into the DOJ/FBI/CIA and thus, “clean house” at those agencies, we must first replace all the swamp rat Republicans in the Senate with patriots as well. Otherwise, we’re just pissing in the wind.
I’d love to see Kash Patel as AG. He’d love to give that place a cleansing. Gaetz would too. But as it stands now, they’d NEVER be confirmed.
