The reason those are important is because its a progression of learning how to work with a staff, delegate authority and manage large numbers of people and equipment to accomplish a mission. The higher up you go the bigger the staff and the more people and things you control.

Hegseth has none of that. He also has no business background other than shaking down people on Venmo because he is Trumps boy.

He also is a hard core alcoholic, thats his description not mine. He said he would quit if confirmed, apparently thats not the case.

The DoD had a plan for Pete, dump the enormity of the Sec Def job and responsibilities directly on his head day 1. It worked. The uniformed personnel at the Pentagon run the show, Pete is in charge of DEI stuff.

remember when Trump appointed Mattis and the collective screeching from the Left was that he was a General? Mattis had command at every level from platoon to COCOM, and that was used against him as being the incorrect experience needed for a SecDef due to his ties to the military being too close.

now it's apparently the requirement according to some of the same people.

You seem to be under the delusion that the Pentagon gets to choose the SecDef, but as we aren’t living under a military junta that’s not the case.

If their plan was working they wouldn’t be sending human waves of MIC pawns at him daily.

He’s messing with their horrible and corrupt procurement process (kickbacks), their internal politics (DEI/hierarchy) and their forever war agenda (Iran, Ukraine, etc) so they want him gone, simple as that.

Great point! That was awful. A better interviewer follows up immediately with a question like the one you propose. I took Bolton's statement as a (likely unsupported) suggestion that Hegseth's carelessness with Signal chats, etc. endangered not only American interests but Hegseth's own safety. Most on this board seem to take it as more of threat, presumably from some deep state actors. There may be other ways to understand Bolton's odd statement. A better interviewer gets Bolton to explain what he meant, right then and there.
