Like I ask, why does a Brazilian problem require a U.S. solution. In the end who gives a flying F if it's Bolsonaro or Lula running things. Lula does business with us.....and China, Bolsonaro did businesss with us and China.

I understand non-interventionalism but if you cant acknowledge the extent to which Lula will have them within China's orbit I'm not sure its worth arguing with you.

But his point is that Flavio wouldn't have broken them out of that orbit any more than his father did. Public statements/campaign rhetoric != reality as we saw with the elder Bolsonaro.
