I have some friends that work at Ramsey Solutions. (the company founded by financial guru Dave Ramsey) Within his company, one male colleague cannot ride in a car alone with one female colleague in any business capacity. They also cannot ride alone in an elevator on company property. If both approach an unoccupied elevator, the male is to let the female take the elevator and wait on it to come back down.

He has had these policies in place for quite awhile. Years ago, I'm sure it seemed a bit strange, but considering where we are today, he was ahead of his time in heading off a potential problem.

Women and feminists never seemed to figure out that a huge part of the glass ceiling wasn't intentional at all. It was simply a function of their lack of integration into the social aspects of the business world

A not-insignificant element to moving up in the business world has to do with the level of interpersonal comfort the people have. Heck that's why feminist fought so hard for the right to do things like join the country clubs the men were part of. They understood that business relationships are built on trust and trust is built doing things other than just the business at hand

You can't fricking build trust if I'm scared shiftless of having you in the office with me by myself. If for 5 years joke and jump in my office anytime he needs to and kick back and we can be us for a few minutes but Sally cannot and Sally has no hope of ever building the same rapport with me
