What specifically would stop the endless politicization of all sports, statues, etc.

Colin Kaepernick has never stated clearly what the kneeling during the anthem was supposed to achieve.
I don't think he ever knew and I think even if he did, he'd not say on purpose, because it allows him to virtue signal and claim injustice, racism, or what ever he wants, depending on the day of the week.
Bottom line, they want control.
Sadly, many believe if we give it to them, #justice will be served.
We gave Obama 2 terms in the White House, for the same reason, and look how horrible that turned out.
Don't be fooled again.
