And that’s the best case. Worse, and just as likely, they’re power-tripping assholes who know they can punish him for failure to kowtow, because they’ve done it before with zero repercussions.

So what if he was "casing the joint" under the guise of watering the plants all the while looking for a way into the house?
You see, I feel like a real criminal isn't going to do this though. It's too easy to be recognized and caught later.

he could have made this way easier on everyone.
People who aren't criminals don't like being treated like criminals. He absolutely could have made things easier, but I get his reaction.

As I said, that CALLER should be the one getting the grief here - for just calling it in and then forgetting about it.
Exactly. The funny thing is, the caller actually knows the pastor too. He didn't recognize him when he made the call.

Just because you can be a jackass doesn't mean you should.
Being a jackass is not an arrest-able offense. Nor does being a jackass (verbally) justify the detainment seen in the video. More cops need to learn that.

So. fricking. What.

I agree with this statement
But he was not treated like a criminal - until after he started acting like a criminal.
My biggest gripe in this thread stems from the damned TITLE =
Black pastor is handcuffed for watering his neighbor's flowers
This was an invitation for all the ignorant neckbeards to jump in with their idiotic
- COPS ARE ALL BAD!!!
- YOU CAN TREAT COPS LIKE shite = IF THEY DON'T LIKE IT THEY CAN QUIT!!
- ALL COPS WANT TO DO IS HASSLE YOU!!!!
sounds like Democrat Underground
It happens time after time - and it is ALWAYS based on a fukcing LIE - like the TITLE here.
Cops showed up because they had to - someone called 911 about a suspicious person.
Title says "Cops arrested a black man for watering flowers"
/\ that is the kind of shite we complain about CNN and MSNBC doing - essentially a LIE!!!
I enjoy watching people show off their stupidity. Gives me a lot of insight into which user names are worth paying attention to.
Thanks to you all
=== remember
--- nobody is totally useless -
--- you can always be used as a BAD EXAMPLE.

Your missing the entire point snowflake!! It’s not about feelings, it’s about the rule of law!!

This is the comment that started this tangent:

Being real here, most people in that same situation would have a terrible attitude.

My point still stands, you seem to be all about the feels!!

I’m glad we can finally agree you are a snowflake!

WHAT ? The cops actions couldn't have been any better upon their arrival. They explained the entire situation, very nicely, and politely, from the very start ! What did they receive from the very start, attitude, belligerence, and threats.
PLEASE explain to me what was so wrong with their actions.
yea how dare anyone give cops attitude? Should've known better and been on his best boot lickin behavior.

Those cops are dumbasses. They basically realized they looked dumb and then doubled down from embarrassment.

The good pastor was NOT BEING QUESTIONED FOR WATERING GRASS!!! - for GAWD's sake, once and for all - he was being questioned because of a 911 SUSPICIOUS PERSON call. - how simple can this be???
He wasn’t committing a crime, suspicion isn’t justification for ID and if they would’ve done their job and not let their ego get the best of them then they wouldnt be catching heat.. this whole the pastor should’ve done this game goes both ways..

you cant obstruct by not surrendering your ID for being 'suspicious', gotta have an actual crime first to require an ID. (not in a motorvehicle)
entirely bogus charge. cops had no crime but they dont like people refusing to ID even when there is no requirement to ID. IDs are like crack to cops, they gotta have it and don't care who or what they have to infringe on to get it.
we have people in this thread that would ask "how wet" when cops ask for a boot lickin.

I spoke with a friend tonight who lives in Childersburg, he also grew up there. He's friends with the Chief of Police, the Chief just resigned over all this. Said he couldn't take what everyone across the country has been saying about the PD and the town. The Chief said he'd go back to being a lawyer. My friend said nobody locally complained about it, it's all came from out of state. My friends sister works for the city of Childersburg and has been getting 100's of calls a day about this, none good. He said the local sentiment is the cops fricked up arresting him. He also mentioned every single part of that town has blacks and whites living next to each other. I've had business meetings with the mayor, a nice man. This isn't a good reflection of Childersburg. Former NBA player Gerald Wallace came home to live in Childersburg where he grew up when he could've lived anywhere if that's saying anything.

the critics are spot on.

snowflake chief can't handle valid and warranted criticism. altho this example is mild in the grand scheme of cops abusing their authority. its just another example of "lick my boots or there will be consequences".
