4,000 point drop in the Dow in 1 day! That would be something! 7-8% would get my attention.

This economy and stock market is nothing but a house of cards. This was inevitable. Smoke and mirrors.

You overestimate that by 4 days and 23 hours.

I said a few days ago that a crash is coming, and I know it has been dandied about for some time, but from talking to some people, after vacations and with school starting, some people don't have any money and will not be able to withstand a setback. Things are finally bottlenecks for people and decisions are going to have to be made. I don't know how bad things will get or how long they will last, but I expect whenever things kick off, it will only be the first wave. Dark days are ahead.

As bad as it may get, maybe it is time for it to happen.

The way things are gong, the only way we can even begin to fix the mess if for it all to crash and burn leaving no choice.

Then we either sink or swim. But maybe now is as good a time as any.

If anyone is actually invested, 10% this time of year won’t rattle them. Apple is up 14% YTD, NVDA is up 116% YTD, MSFT is up 8.6 YTD.
This is grasping at straws by desperate people. A real concern should be all the GOP governors running re-election bids on how great the economy is doing. Which is it? The economy sucks or is it doing great?

A cleansing is needed, one where only the actually strong ones survive. I'm talking purge style.

Sounds pretty bad to me

quote:

This is incredible:

The Nasdaq 100 index is now trading below 18,000 and just 6.5% away from entering bear market territory.

Exactly 18 trading days ago, the index was trading at new all time highs.

In overnight trading today alone, the Magnificent 7 have erased nearly $500 BILLION of market cap.

Since July 16th, the S&P 500 has erased $3.3 TRILLION in market cap.

That's $235 billion PER TRADING DAY for the last 14 trading days in a row.

What just happened?
