What is left out of many news reports is that it appears the father — Travis McMichael — had crossed paths with Arbery before when McMichael was a police investigator. So perhaps the confrontation that occurred between the two may have been colored by the two’s familiarity with each other as much as race.

Indeed, it appears that McMichael’s past as a LEO has played a factor in why it took so long for charges to be filed against the father and son. Two prosecutors had recused themselves from the case because of their apparent past relationship or familiarity with the elder McMichael.

With these facts in mind, I posit that this is less a case of race and more of a case of police protecting their own. It very likely may be that investigators started with an assumption of a justified shooting because of their past relationship with Travis McMichael and his status as a former LEO.

Yet it is often impossible carry on an intelligent conversation about these issues because race pimps in the media are so eager to push their twisted narratives. I fully expect that racial ideologues will distort my suggestion that the Georgia shooting may be more a case of “police privilege” than “white privilege” as evidence that I am a white supremacist.

Not really. We are humans who use racism for weak arguments. Keep at it though.

ETA: It is okay to try to insult me again too. I am okay with that. Won’t change my position. We are first and foremost genetically humans who have different ethnic backgrounds.
