Whatever team that drilled that original well (likely drilled in the 1990s) already owns it.

Maybe, but also look at what the “small” mom & pop operators like a Crown Rock were able to do getting into the Permian when they did.

Destroy the entire world economy to possibly make the tiniest of changes. That’s what you want to do. It’s nuts. Wack jobs. Germany is basically destroying their country to prove this point.

Actually, that is the desired goal, not just a consequence.

Trivia: Alabama's electricity is 40% CO2 free (nuke + hydro) . We aren't part of the "problem".

Now, think of this: Democrats have destroyed nuclear power in this country. If they hadn't, we would probably have a much smaller carbon footprint plus have cleaner air in general.

Trivia: If the Dems hadn't sued Mississippi, Roe vs Wade would still be in effect, but some states would have a 15 week abortion ban.

You see, they are a destroyer of things, sometimes, the very things they say they value.

True.

they don't have to use such foul language full time. A little is OK I guess but jeez, it's constant.

I was going to say something similar.
if anything, they toned the vulgarity down from real world on those oilfield sites.

I have been saying this about all the so called "alternative energy" that the big green scam continues to push. Exxon would be on the forefront if alternative fuels was the future.

The weird part about that show is they are trying to make out like a "Land Man" is capable of running the production side of an oilfield company. My dad used to run/ was in charge of all oil and gas production for a medium sized oil company in Texas. He was basically on the phone all the time with rig hands, well servicing hands, oil and water hauling companies, etc. He did a lot of troubleshooting of mechanical and pumping/ flow issues on oil and gas wells...He knew a ton of crap about the oilfield even more than Petroleum Engineers......They didn't even have land man types working for them on a regular basis...Only when they were looking for new leases to drill...

Taylor Sheridan makes great shows.

He doesn’t have anyone telling him what to put, or not put, them. Pretty much the entire Paramount plus original catalog are his shows.

Global warming hasn't been a thing for "50 years". Back in the 80s we were being warned about a pending "ice age".

Never spent much time in the oil fields of west/ south Texas and New Mexico?

Guys like your dad are becoming sorely missed as those guys retire or die off.
The oil companies in general have done a pretty shittty job of debriefing all the "brains" of their knowledge and cataloging it for use by the workforce coming behind them.

Back when i was working for a coiled tubing company in STX I was riding in the truck with one of our supervisors who was on the phone with his wife, who was VERY religious, and when we pulled up i saw one of the hands up on the injector without a harness on. I stood on the running board and gave him what i thought was a normal oilfield communication. His wife told me she would pray for me and ended the call.

The earth is making oil and natural gas right now. The talk of a finite source now seems rather unscientific

again

Earth Is An Oil-Producing Machine — We're Not Running Out

KERRY JACKSON05:39 PM ET 11/04/2015
Ever since M. King Hubbert in the 1950s convinced a lot of people with his "peak oil" theory that production would collapse and we'd eventually exhaust our crude supplies, the clock has been running. And running. And it will continue to run for some time, as technology and new discoveries show that there's still an ocean of oil under our feet.

Engineering and Technology Magazine reported this week that BP — the company that once wanted to be known as "Beyond Petroleum" rather than "British Petroleum" — is saying "the world is no longer at risk of running out of resources."

"Thanks to investment into supercomputers, robotics and the use of chemicals to extract the maximum from available reservoirs, the accessible oil and gas reserves will almost double by 2050," Engineering and Technology said.

A BP official told the magazine that "energy resources are plentiful. Concerns over running out of oil and gas have disappeared."

And a question for those of you who know the work... When those guys were banging on the wrench in that first scene where they had the explosion, wouldn't they have a gas monitor on them are next to them?
