Who? I know of a lot of rock legends and his name isn't on my radar.

Bye, Bye. don't let the door hit you on your way out.

That'll show Trump.

We are so lucky that an old has-been celeb who is super insulated against reality is out there being sure we all see he's super childish.

i have zero issue with him doing this. he has renounced his citizenship and therefore has no legal grounds to be here. simple as that. i think you are conflating celebrities that threaten to do this and those that actually follow up, but if he renounces his citizenship, he should lose all benefits of being American. i just want the powers that be to FULLY honor Mr Armstrongs request and give him the same treatment noncitizens receive, good or bad.

honestly, i wish more celebrities that hate america would do likewise.

Props to Billie Joe... He is one of the few who is following through with leaving the country.

He should just be care he gets what he wants. Laws are tricky and he needs to know how this affects him and his royalties and taxes going forward.

Not bashing these bands, but think about the 70s and 80s. During those decades you saw rap for the first time, you saw glam rock (for the first time), you saw punk emerge (for the first time), new wave bands, hair metal, soft rock, heavy metal, Reggae, Ska, disco, prog rock, etc., etc. Music was still evolving and new genres were still emerging.

The 90s were mostly (not entirely) like the musical equivalent of kids rediscovering Chuck Taylors.

Yeah, I don't think there were as many new styles of music in the 90s, but I thought the 90s bands in the rock/alternative format had elite melodies/songs. Bands like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, Live, STP, Weezer, etc., raised the bar with great melodies and songs. There seemed to be a ton of lesser bands that had had one or two great songs just to compete with bands who were putting out great albums full of melodic, memorable material. I thought the early-mid 90s was as good as it gets when it came to bands having great songs.
