I have actually been thinking this was going to happen for a while. The story may be completely bogus or extremely exaggerated but the impact of right before the election is there isn't enough time to refute it. Just like the Atlantic article. My guess is something Trump said completely out of context and not understanding the nuance and hyoerbole he often speaks in.

This will be one of those stories that gives soy boys a boner, but normal people don't gaf about. Like his taxes, or somehting along those lines.

If whatever the story is was real, they would have released earlier to completely destroy Trump. But since it is probably fake, the intent is right before election tuesday when most people vote... so there is no time to debunk the fake story.
