I was doing some browsing on this subject, and it's not even clear that women out swim men in these long distance scenarios. It looks to be a lot of tit-for-tat, with a few women holding records for swimming across this specific area, and men holding records for swiming across other specific areas (all areas are in the 75 to 200 mile range).

So, it looks more like a draw.

Still, ladies can be competitive here. But not anywhere else.
