Bill Maher: “DeSantis Is Like A Tribute Band, Trump Is The Band”

“DeSantis has the personality of a kitchen cabinet.”
Interesting. And they all said they would like to see DeSantis beat Trump but don’t think it will happen because DeSantis is completely devoid of charisma and Trump will rip him like all the other Rs in 2016.
I felt I would provide the Bill Maher update since OMLandshark is still recovering in that sanitarium.

Maher was warning that DeSantis has to sell Trump’s platform and allure to get the votes...and he isn’t doing it and it’s doubtful that he can do it because he’s just so damn dull and boring. Maher stressed Trump voters aren’t going to just vote for any Republican, that DeSantis has got to sell what Trump sells better than Trump, and he hopes DeSantis can but he doesn't think he has the ability to do it.

This is my exactly thought on DeSantis running. He need to sit back as the VP under Trump to understand the culture of the DC swamp. If he serves one term as VP, he'll be a shoo in for POTUS in 2028.
But I think that ship has sailed. He burnt the VP bridge with Trump.

I find that odd, because I don't see that at all.
But even if I DID think that, it would have no bearing on whether or not I thought he could do the job he's being hired to do. I don't need a POTUS to be entertaining...I need him to be competent and do the things I want him to do in office.
That's not a veiled shot at Trump from me, btw. I just think this prerequisite has become sort of a reason for why qualified, competent people don't even bother running.
We're voting for the Leader of the Free World, not Class President. This kind of stuff sounds like people liking JFK more having watched him on TV because he was more handsome and wasn't sweaty, but like Nixon if they listened to the debate on the radio.

If personalities didn’t matter we would have presidents like Ron Paul instead of W and Dennis Kucinich instead of Obama and the country would be a lot better for it.
