Shocker.

Every liberal wants Trump to be the nominee.

Maher voted for Biden in all likelihood yet thinks Desantis has a full personality? His opinion on republican candidates means very little.

+1

The whole idea of 'Dems are afraid of Trump' is garbage. They gave Democrat money to Trump candidates in the mid-terms because they thought Trump candidates would be easier to beat. And they were right.

Democrats are desperate for more Trump. He's easier to beat and makes raising money easier for them.

Already had you down for OMB, but I guess it never hurts to be sure.

Bill nails it. Trump is Led Zeppelin.

Ron is “Whole Lotta Led, a Led Zeppelin tribute band, live this weekend at Coushatta”.

C’mon. At least give Ron the decency of ZOSO at the Varsity on a Saturday night during football season. Bare minimum a Friday night, away game.

Agreed. It's reverse psychology, and unfortunately, our base has been stupid enough to give the Dems the candidate they want.

Claire McCaskill admitted that she did this back in 2012. She was toast against any Republican not named Todd Akin and she and her team tricked Republicans voters into voting for Akin in the primary.

LINK

quote:

Running for reelection to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat from Missouri, I had successfully manipulated the Republican primary so that in the general election I would face the candidate I was most likely to beat.

So how could we maneuver Akin into the GOP driver’s seat?

Using the guidance of my campaign staff and consultants, we came up with the idea for a “dog whistle” ad, a message that was pitched in such a way that it would be heard only by a certain group of people. I told my team we needed to put Akin’s uber-conservative bona fides in an ad—and then, using reverse psychology, tell voters not to vote for him. And we needed to run the hell out of that ad.

Our voters fell for the same shite this past cycle. There's a reason why the Dems pretended to be afraid of Mastriano, Oz, Bolduc, Masters, Lake, John Gibbs, and a host of others BEFORE the Republican primary. They wanted them to win their respective nominations because they were weaker General Election candidates. And guess what? They got their wish and there was no red wave.

Our voters need to smarten up. Why the hell would they be afraid of a guy who lost to a corpse? Why the hell would they be afraid of someone who alienates suburban voters and women? Why the hell would they be afraid of someone who consistently underperformed other Republicans, particularly in suburban counties, in 2016 and 2020?

The answer? They're not. They know he's vulnerable in a General Election and has electoral limitations. They want him to be the nominee.

Rick Wilson has already said that he wants Trump to win the primary and that the Pedophile Project will do whatever they can for him to be the GOP nominee.

I’d have to be real drunk and real high to give that any legitimate consideration. And even then I’d eventually come to my senses once I finally sobered up. With the stupidity and incompetence of the left in effectuating any such “reverse psychology” operation, then Trump falling for such an obvious and absurd ploy, not to mention - who the hell is this person penning this article? Someone I’m supposed to stop in my tracks and give my attention to?

Much, much too far flung a scenario for my money.

David Cole has written some interesting columns about this recently.

LINK

quote:

Whereas by 2020 it was clear that Trump had amassed a disruptive (as in, disruptive among conservatives) cult, and keeping those people, and Trump himself, angry and fighting, would split and destroy the GOP, just as Leslie Marshall predicted in 2011 (Marshall essentially called the 2022 midterms eleven years early).

LINK

quote:

And the left certainly doesn’t fear Trump loyalists. Leftists are hoping these guys make a mess of the primaries. Trump won in 2016 on a single unifying issue (immigration). That’s what the left fears. The MAGA personality cultists who scream, “We don’t need a platform; Trump is our platform!” are the left’s best hope. Leftists want that mob to get loud enough to not only drown out the issue-oriented voices, but keep Trump lost in his illusion that the mob alone can elect him.

quote:

That’s what happens when you let the crazies take over. That’s why now, among the QAnon nuts, there’s no mention of immigration. The initial mission was of no interest to them (as Trumpist diehards like Darren Beattie freely admit). Yeah, it was of great interest to voters, but not the cultists. And since the cultists no longer believe they need the voters, the initial mission ain’t coming back.

Trump isn’t even trying to do a fringe balancing act; he’s 100 percent with the lunatics. He’s fully empowered them. He’ll bring them with him to the primary, and they’ll be like black girls in a crowded theater: the only voices you hear, and the more you tell them to be quiet, the louder they get, until their din fills the room at the expense of all other sound.

Unrestrained, crazies will always drown out everything else.

We’ve just had midterms that proved conclusively that swing voters exist and the GOP needs them, and we have Trump launching 2024 with an army of acolytes who’ll alienate those independents. And don’t be fooled by his “dry” announcement speech; he’ll always play to his cultists (“stolen election!” “Moloch!” “Q!”), more so as the primaries get underway.

quote:

There’s only one way to head this off: Rational rightists have to stop pandering to the cultists. Zero tolerance. No winking at their wacky theories, no playing to them just enough to get subs for your Substack or views for your videos. You have about a year before any of this matters; a year to isolate and demoralize the Moloch fingerpeople.

“reverse psychology”

It's real and the Dems are good at it.

They suckered us into voting for shite candidates during the 2022 primaries that were weak General Election candidates.

The question is how much longer are we going to be stupid and give the Dems the candidates they want?

I mean, are we seriously going to make losers like Kari Lake, Doug Mastriano, and John Gibbs the Senate candidates in AZ, PA, and MI respectively? Are we seriously going to re-nominate a guy who not only lost to Biden, but over half of the country despises?

I don't have much faith that we will smarten up and learn our lessons.

Bill knows New Deal Don can’t win. You will begin seeing more and more MSM types go after Ron in an attempt to make Trump the nominee.
