John Kerry: 9 years

AOC: 12 years

Gates: 30 years

quote:

Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates warned that there will be dire consequences if the world does not achieve zero net carbon emissions by the year 2050.

In his new book, “How to Avoid a Climate Disaster,” Gates says that it is imperative that the world go from the current 51 billion tons of emissions to zero within the next 30 years to avoid catastrophe.

quote:

“The migration that we saw out of Syria for their civil war, which was somewhat weather dependent, we’re going to have 10 times as much migration because the equatorial areas will become unlivable," Gates told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace, warning what will happen if the goal is not reached. "We won't be able to farm or go outside during the summer. Wildfires, even the farming productivity in the south of the U.S. – the droughts – will reduce productivity in the area dramatically."

quote:

While 2050 is Gates' cutoff point, he said this is really just a matter of "degree."

"If we wait 10 more years it's not as bad as if we wait 20 or we wait 30, because the temperature just keeps going up," he said. Gates said he is looking at 2050 because it "happens to be the soonest realistic date for the world to change all of these sorts of emissions."

quote:

Gates defended himself against criticisms from the left and right. Those on the left claim that he is not going far enough, and that he needs to support the Green New Deal, with efforts to reduce net emissions to zero by 2030.

"It's completely unrealistic," Gates said about the 2030 goal, saying that it will take at least 30 years to accomplish this.

Wait for one damned moment! The great orator of truth, wisdom, and knowledge AOC said a year or two ago that we had 12 years left didn’t she? Someone’s math is off!

Edit: I see you posted some of the fear monger doomsday predictions. Back in the 80’s and 90’s we were already supposed to be screwed circa 2021. Leads me to this...it was global cooling, then global warming, the climate change...they can’t get the definition down nor the timeline...how in the hades are we supposed to ride such a ubiquitous enemy that nobody can pin down in any aspect?

How can someone who knew so much about the Corona virus also be a carbon emissions expert. When does he sleep?

Which is a perfect date for someone who supports the green new deal.

Not a single Syrian refugee was migrating because of the weather or climate change. This is absurd

Wait. I thought migration from these areas was good for us.

Net zero emissions is simply an impossibility.

Enough of this crap. When the water gets high enough, build a seawall or move.

Either way, just STFU about it.

And quit trying to take more of my hard-earned money.

I’ll let Gates and Kerry show me how it’s done at a personal level. When each of their carbon emissions is consistently at zero for more than a week, I’ll believe they mean what they’re saying.

No private jets, or any airplane travel. No limos, or any travel dependent on internal combustion. No beef. No use of any devices containing plastics.

It’s amazing how all they talk about is our emissions in the US . Plus if they really thought we would all die in 9-30 years , then they would make major changes now. Changes that would make a difference. Eliminate welfare , build the military to take our countries that don’t eliminate their emissions, put all the pork money into green energy rebates for Americans . I will believe climate change when democrats start to make a difference instead of just wasting our tax money to fill their pockets .

Why is the particular state of our planet, as it is today, the most desirable and best situation?

Coastlines have varied by hundreds of miles. Why is the current status quo the right place for a coastline to be?

Just because people have built in certain spots, the Earth should quit changing as it has for billions of years?

Why do we never hear of the positive results of warming? Increased yields, more arable land, etc.

Al gore said something similar about 20 years ago. Nothing he predicted ever happened. I believe one of his predictons was that bc of global warming that a gallon of milk would costs about $20 by 2016. Also, you have over 2 billion people on the other side of the world in India and China that don’t give a frick about the environment what so ever. So if they aren’t gonna change their ways then nothing anyone does is really going to make an impact
