None of that matters if it’s stopping something from getting done. America didn’t vote for Massie

I gather since you are back to responding to me that you are open to be harassed again.

The mental health break seems to have been helpful for you. That’s awesome.

What was stopped by the way?

You should ask your mom. She knows the answer.

It's exactly what tariffs are. To usurp your choice to purchase for less.

So you really do hate America, huh? We've already seen what happens to the U.S. when it is beholden to foreign countries for our products. But Roger would rather buy cheap Chinese shite, than the U.S. be able to manufacture and produce our own. Just move to China Roger, no more tariffs on the goods you love so much.

You missed the part about the amount of money tariffs will bring in to our country.
If by "tariffs" you mean our money and by "our country" you mean the federal government, you guys should hope most people miss that part.

The tariff don't bring in money they're a tax on imports

And where does tax money go?

Into the Treasury. Just because the business passes along the cost to the consumer doesn’t mean the Treasury doesn’t get the tariff money.

Stop being a negative nancy and let things play out.
No offense, but I've been watching this play out for almost half a century, and considering we're closing in on a 14 figure deficit, it's getting difficult to call the glass half full.

Spending has to be gutted, but that appears to be the Achilles' heel of "representative democracy." I'm starting to think that rolling out the guillotine every 50 years or so is the only realistic solution.

It is going to add to the debt. Unfortunately, a bill that would slash spending would never pass and that is the frustrating part about the GOP. They don’t really want to cut spending but I do believe that IF a real budget were to be passed Trump would sign it

I'm not trying to protect anybody. But I know firsthand what's it's like to compete with cheap Chinese shite. You love Chinese shite. I HATE it with the fires of 10,000 hells. If I never saw another MADE IN CHINA label, I would die a peaceful man.

Thats the only benefit of tariffs. Protectionsim.

Youre wanting goods to cost more for the general pop to support huge corporations. Sounds like redistribution to me.

All well and good.

Our wish was that Trump would demand a real budget be worked up by the GOP that created substantial and legit slashing to the fat.

What's extremely frustrating is the lack of any sense of urgency by the GOP (that's why parties have a "Whip" and why the President has a "Bully Pulpit" -- to ostensibly create that sense of urgency and importance.)

But alas -- BOTH the GOP and Trump seem very content to just toss a few bones, Hershey's Kisses and a bottle of Old Spice into the budget to make it seem like it was some kind of positive accomplishment instead of the stink-bomb it is.

It's the same thing that happened in Trump's first term. He wanted Obamacare repealed and replaced and Republicans fumbled farted around and never came up with a replacement. A Republican Congress is as useless as tits on a boar hog.
