Headlines usually dumb down this sort of thing to "President orders federal employees ..." when an order really only applies to executive branch agencies (which make up the vast majority of fed employees). The orders usually do not apply to the handful of employees of the legislative or judicial branch.
Take, for example, the masks mandate for federal employees. By its terms it applied only to executive branch employees, but the order asked the heads of the other two branches to adopt similar rules, and they did.
It does not look like the EO for the vaccine mandate includes such a request of the other two branches. LINK

To be fair, the reporting on this makes it sound like Congress was given an exception to the Executive Order - but that’s not the case. The EO doesn’t apply to anyone in the legislative or judicial branches, as the president’s EO only applies to the executive branch of government. It’s a check and balance of the powers of the executive branch. This is a big difference from Congress members being given a special exemption (like they have on things in the past). Congress sucks and I absolutely believe they’re corrupt, but this title is misleading

Exactly! It’s BS and everyone in the whole country should be appalled at the hypocrisy, to the point we at the very least vote them out, let alone try them in court for treason. That’s the point of my sharing this.
