This is the same administration that is renaming military bases and encouraged removing statues and monuments. What a joke.
quote:
“In a time when there are those who seek to ban books, bury history, we’re making it clear, crystal, crystal clear: While darkness and denialism can hide much, they erase nothing,” Biden said at the White House, where he and members of the Till family gathered to formally approve the new monument. “We can’t just choose to learn what we want to know,” Biden said from the Indian Treaty Room. “We have to learn what we should know. We should know about our country. We should know everything. The good, the bad, the truth. Who we are as a nation.”

When he says everything, he literally didn’t really mean everything.
They just want you to learn about the history that they like.

As the Senator from Montana said in Shooter "The truth is what I say it is!" They declare their truth to fit they're narrative and most often it is far from the actual truth.

Nothing he says makes any sense. Literally nothing.

There is a soy filled liberal arts major somewhere very proud of this contribution.

quote:We're definitely not being told the real story about him. His father was a rapist and murderer who was executed in theater during WW2 for rape and murder. And the lynch mob that killed him included a few blacks as well. I'd love to see a proper deep dive on this guy, seeing as how every other iconic civil rights incident is bullshite.

Like Hunter's laptop wasn't Russian disinformation?
Like the fact that you are the big guy?

I wish this piece of shite would die already.

Not a single book has been banned.
Democrats lie with zero shame.
I was in an independent used book store and they had a section literally titled banned books.
If they are banned how were they available for sale?
Idiots. All of them.

A national monument to a guy who accosted a woman. Nice. I guess George Floyd will get one next.

I think that everyone can agree that no one likes the history of a teenager being murdered, his body dumped in a river, and subsequently having an all white jury acquit the men who did it.
Unless we're into revisionist history and lies, like some of the folks commenting on this topic.

Carolyn Bryant Dunham actually admitted years ago that she lied about this.

Thanks for continuing to peddle lies, though.

Yes, I've learned most of my history based on the names of our military bases. Not sure how kids will ever learn about Braxton Bragg after the base changes names.
I'm not sure we need a national monument for Till, but his death was an important part of the Civil Rights Movement. If they start putting up Emmett Till statues in every town across the South, then we may need to have a talk
Removing statues that celebrate men who killed hundreds of thousands of American soldiers in the name of preserving slavery does not erase them from history ...it just reduces the hero worship.

Every two or three years major league baseball declares it "Jackie Robinson year."
Every two or three years the democrats erect a memorial to Emmitt Till.
They're both too lazy to think of something new.

quote:It's a fact. Why? Did you think it was a buncha fat rednecks in white robes? That was just country justice for a lot of things back then. Even if Till was guilty as charged, he still didn't deserve the mob, but the mob was comprised of the community as a whole, not the Klan. Know that shite.
