Yea, IIRC they generally use random other AF call signs when overseas, or otherwise manipulate public data on the flight.
Can you imagine if flightaware just showed "AF 1" all the time?

I remember getting into a scuffle with a poster because they said the AF1 call sign switched. I told them it went stealth. I followed a SAM last week on flight radar, their destination was stealth until they landed & it was Dept of Interior. So POTUS is quite stealth. But they show them at times. I also would guess they show a different flight pattern then the one they really take, or the second AF1 flight pattern.
On a subtopic. I see headlines at daily mail.
