Lots of press about this, but not a lot of details, assuming it will be the measures the house passed and the senate nixed.

Crime is skyrocketing across the US (even with the FBI gerrymandering statistics) and he will further handcuff police, at a time when dem liberal cities have reversed course and are re-funding police.

Obama used some of his cronies, and millions of federal dollars, for these consultants to reimagine the police forces in Furgeson and Baltimore....anyone looked at the results lately???????

I hope he shoves it down the throats of the liberal cities, let the animals roam free, just in time for the mid-terms, I like it, a lot.

What we need is a tripling of our prisons.

This will likely be tied to funding.

Local/state police want their fake tanks and tactical gear, so they'll fall in line.

The best way to improve policing would be to fund regional training centers. Local police departments, especially small ones, cannot afford the time or the cost to properly train and provide ongoing training for their officers. Many don’t even have trained trainers.

Executive orders only apply to federal employees……that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

There’s no data out there that supports the “more training = better policing” idea.

We need fewer interactions between police officers and civilians. Let’s stop making them a revenue generating branch. Stop making them the executors of the administrative state of licensure. If we need to raise taxes to account for lower ticket revenue, do it. They shouldn’t be part of a Rube Goldberg machine of enacting laws to generate revenue to pay for the services of the revenue generators.

I know for a fact that my Sheriff will not be complying with some bullshite Biden EO on anything, and that's straight from the horses mouth, he happens to be my neighbor and one of my best friends is a deputy Sheriff.

They want to federalize all police activity. Democrats do not like state/local LEO that do not do the bidding of the Federal Govt.

This is absolutely and totally wrong. Where did you get that idea?

This might be the most absurd thing I’ve read on the topic.

While I agree in principle, especially regarding the bullshite practice of civil asset forfeiture, I’d like to hear your suggestions for how to enforce public fines without, you know, force.

In the current discussion of police reform, this issue isn’t even on the radar. It’s a fair point, but tertiary at best.

And it’s intuitively wrong. What if I posted that practice does not make a football team better?

Spent 10 days in Ireland a while back had a rental car and drive all around the country. Only time I ever saw police was when we drove past a guards station, no speed traps anywhere.

Would be nice.

It’s strange that for some people, “police reform” means reducing traffic enforcement.

That’s worked well in NYC, Chicago, LA, Seattle etc.

It’s not absurd. You’re a cop.

I didn’t say fewer arrests. I didn’t say less enforcement of crime. We should have police hyper focused on crime.

Hmmm. Now I wonder why Ireland doesn’t require cops all over the place… what could be so special about a country like Ireland and it’s population? Anyone want to take a guess?

New York had more arrests precisely because there were more interactions between cops and civilians with the cops looking to pat down people to find guns and drugs on them.

Cleaned up the city in two years.
