Calling them dumb tells me you don't understand what's going on. They are evil, not dumb. If they were dumb, they wouldn't be accomplishing all of this. They view the Green New Deal as their version of the Great Leap Forward.

Exactly. The way to phase it out is develop more efficient alternatives. We just aren’t there yet, and weee probably 50 years away from beginning to phase it out. And it may take a few facades.
Not create random/artificial deadlines.

Amos Hochstein has not clue about the workings of supply, production, demand, etc in the real energy world.
He's basically been nothing but a Washington D.C. bureaucrat other that three brief years at Tellurian, where he was only hired because of his time in Washington, D.C., and he was part of "leadership" that caused the company to have financial issues and lawsuits over money and other accusations.

IMO, this is because they want to harm the economy of states like Texas, Louisiana, and Oklahoma, but especially Texas. Killing O&G would go a long way towards accomplishing their goal of turning Texas permanently blue.
If Texas turns permanently blue, they'll have full and total control of everything they'll ever want.

Right on. It’s their insistence to remove it right now that is causing the havoc. Just let the market do what it does and we’ll get there naturally minus the damage they’re hellbent on putting us through.

Where will plastics and synthetic chemicals come from? How will we make grease and oil to lubricate bearings in our electric cars? Cotton is racist and polyester comes from oil. What will we wear? Hemp? Silk?
