It will include the food courts in the exchanges, etc as well... It is almost like they do not even consider 2nd and 3rd order effects of their actions but they really want to destroy everything they touch...

I bet most of them are already making that. They've had a gvt. pay scale forever, and it's always been a whole lot more than in the private industry.

Can someone explain how this should not be a part of confessional budget authority?

Dianne Feinstein and her husband should be worried about their future Post Office locations.

They probably are all paying that much or more already.
Davis-Bacon wages already provide for that.
This EO is meaningless, just like his *presidency

Davis-Bacon is for construction contracts.
This executive order is broader, for all federal contracts and nothing short of a circumvention of the recent failed attempt by the Dems in CONgress to raise the minimum wage to $15/hour.

I'm sure you are right about the burger king, but it use to apply to cafeteria folks and stuff.

I see this as a tax increase in disguise. The more private companies pay their employees the more income taxes they pay to Uncle Sam, the more money can be handed out by the Committee for Government Dependency.

This isn’t a big deal. They’ve been using set Wage Determinations for most types of labor anyway.

I use to do a lot of contract work on Redstone Arsenal and Marshal Space Flight Center back in the 80s and 90s. We had to pay day laborers from Labor Finders over 12 bucks per hour, even back then.

Union contracts tied to multiples of minimum wage rejoice.

Democrats continue spending your money like it's theirs and endless.

Not sure how many it impacts.
The move will increase the current minimum wage of $10.95 by nearly 37% by March of next year and continue to tie future increases to inflation.
It will apply to federal workers from cleaning and maintenance staff to food service contractors and laborers, sweeping in tipped workers who were previously left out of the last increase under former President Barack Obama.
White House officials insist it won't increase costs for taxpayers because of benefits including increased worker productivity.
It builds on an order issued by former President Obama, which required federal contractors to be paid $10.10 an hour indexed to inflation. That rate now stands at $10.95 an hour.
The order also indexes the raise to inflation after 2022, and ends the tipped minimum wage for workers such as those offering seasonal recreational services, food servers and shuttle bus drivers LINK

All both of the Federal contractors who actually made under $15. are happy.

now all the bids for government projects will be higher.
This cost passed straight to the taxpayers.
Federal contracts are unbelievably complex and almost any project under $2 million can be awarded without bids if it's through a 8A (minority) contractor and most 8A's are nothing more than "shadow" owners and many are tied at the hip with Federal contracting officers.
Hundreds of billions are wasted in this process.

An E-1 in the Army doesn't make $15.00 per hour in pay. But, depending on how they calculate free food at the mess hall and free housing in a barracks I guess it could get above $15.00. Oh and I almost forgot free medical and clothing, LOL.
