I would have chosen to confront that person with my 12 gauge instead of words.

Why are you skeptical?
I'm skeptical of everything I read. Especially when I'm linked to a story of some no-name website that looks like it was created 20 years ago using geocities. Further, there is very little information that can be found about the story or the man mentioned in it when doing a quick web search. Red flags are everywhere.
Why aren't you skeptical?

The man is a known person in KC area politics. He did go to the hospital. The police are said to be investigating.
I didn’t put $100 down on it being all true. But there’s lots of easily verifiable things about the story.

You sound like a guy that would let an intruder rape your wife without putting up a defense as long as he promised not to kill her.
What's the real harm huh, everybody is okay and still alive.

You mean his husband.

Well I'm old. I still have a hard time wrapping my head around that option. I apologize for being presumptive.

Cops have perfected dropping a gun on their victim. Now my life is in danger.

I am like minded but be aware in the state of Louisiana you can only use deadly force if you have reason to believe your life is in danger. Protection of property is not a defense and you would be arrested for murder. We really need to lobby the legislature to change the law. A man should absolutely be allowed to defend his property.
Thank God for Texas.

We cannot persuade these hard core leftists of their errors.
We cannot coexist with these hard core leftist.
We cannot make peace with these hard core leftists.
We cannot succumb to these hard core leftists.
The only solution is to exterminate the hard core leftists.

I see you’re a real student of history? Because it’s littered with just this scenario, the only problem is that without fail a foreign power sweeps in & conquers the empire that has so weakened itself from internal strife(see the Roman Empire). Once the shooting does start & it will, we are no better than the countless powers before us, it’s impossible to put that genie back in the bottle.

It's not just any misdemeanor. It's an assault on our right to express our political views freely.
Either way, shooting someone for it seems a bit extreme.
