Just give him a piece of paper with '$14 TRILLION' scribbled on it.

Problem solved.

Um...no.

At best, 88 years under the USA (either Articles of Confederation or Constitution).

Also, AND NOT DEFENDING SLAVERY, while wages may not have been paid, there was compensation (housing, clothing, medical treatment).

Well done! I wonder how much of that 14 trillion Robert wants for himself.

He made that deal with the devil, no telling what he wants.

Sure put the money aside, then take it and give it to the only people who should ever see any reparations money - the destroyed business. Not the Cities, not the States, not the Politicians, not the NGO's, just the gutted destroyed buisness.

I mean this guy is missing the mark big time and a vast majority of that certain demographic will not ever look internally to correct the issues that are hindering themselves. I mean let’s looks at these issues:

1) Education, they have access to free primary education and Affirmative Action gives them great access to higher education than Caucasian’s. Why don’t they take advantage of it.
2) Healthcare, they have access via multiple agencies. But they can choose to eat a diet high in saturated fats instead of healthy food. That isn’t on me.
3) Job Opportunities, don’t even get me started on this. It isn’t about the best person anymore in corporate America. It is about diversity which is a polite way of say if you are a white hetero male you are going to have to work two or three times as hard to get ahead.
4) Law Enforcement....when 6.5% of the US population commit greater than 50% of the violent crimes you have a HUGE problem. When an LEO is 18x more likely to be killed by a black male than a black male is to be killed by an LEO. These are FACTs not feelings. There is an issue that they need to self police.

I mean we can debate this left and right but when will they admit they have an issue and quit passing the buck to som mythical white privilege bull shite!

Doubt it would ever pass.

If it did it would immediately be enjoined as it is litigated thru the courts. There would be some 14th issues with it.

I could also see giving money to states for their general fund (rather than a specific purpose) as a bailout could be litigated in court.

Apologies, Kafka. You were a bit too quick on the draw for me to keep up.

On the matter at hand, can you imagine the resentment that would be sparked if one group of people were simply handed $14 trillion dollars? I can't imagine that doing much for race relations in most circles.

Good for him. But don’t tell him that traditionally (Europe) the reparations went to the slave holders for loss of labor and to help secure more labor. In fact the low amount and trouble to get it was a huge part of what started the first Boer War.

In that case can I ( and most southern Lousianans ) get reparations from the British for kicking us out of Canada and stealing our land?

What they gone spend it on? Since white people supposedly own everything..couldn’t we just up the price to extract the money from them? Like the guy selling shitty used cars in the hood at tax time.
