Berkeley professors lose their minds over free speech

It's crazy how far we've fallen as a society.

No words that anyone could say to me would ever "destroy" me. None at all.

Basically. The "free speech" people of 70s Cal grew up to teach anti free speech

there's only one place for people like this and it's academia

Yeah, I don't get mad at the students. I get mad at counts like Melissa Click who arm these kids with these thoughts and lead them to the front line. If I were in charge of a university, I would immediately fire all sociology and gender studies professors and do away with those worthless majors.

The administration is pro-free speech. The faculty isn't the same thing. If I recall, most of the professors in the 60's were on the students side, then, too.

Cal-Berkeley has 1522 professors, and like usual we find one or two professors who make these types of arguments. In this case, 0.13% of the entire faculty in one of the most left leaning places in the country presenting this view.

But it seems like every time this a professor presents these types of stupid viewpoints, it's picked up immediately, and largely spread by the right wing websites and right wing commentators because it's evidence that the this is some widely held view by the other >99%.

Yet, they never seem to consider that they are reinforcing these irrational individuals and their attention seeking behavior and by focusing on every incident and extrapolating it, they are creating the pervasiveness in their own subjective reality instead of in the objective reality.

Well it looks like 0.13% of the faculty are at least.

Of course, one would think that with 1520 other full time faculty, there would be hundreds of faculty members making the same arguments to show how pervasive these views are within the faculty.
