The people who head Ben Shapiro’s conservative news site are in talks to buy Glenn Beck’s troubled media empire TheBlaze, The Daily Beast has learned. Two sources familiar with the conversations said this appears quite likely, though the deal isn’t final.

Reached for comment, Shapiro—who heads The Daily Wire, which is eyeing TheBlaze—did not dispute this report.

A spokesperson for TheBlaze did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Daily Wire is owned by members of the Wilks family, billionaire fracking tycoons from east Texas. They have been looking to expand their holdings in conservative media, and briefly eyed purchasing Breitbart. A messy relationship between them and billionaire heiress Rebekah Mercer—who has an ownership stake in the site—kept that from happening.

Now, their purchase of TheBlaze appears more likely than not.

Poor Glen. We got to see an authentic mental breakdown in real time.

Glenn beck is such a fig. Like 8 years ago he copied Alex Jones but would play everything off like it was a joke and not that big of a deal because they saw people are waking up and they needed to put us back in a lull.

I had such high hopes for him when he first got to Fox but it didn't pan out.

That would be awesome. Bring Tomi back to Dallas. She was great eye candy at the Rustic.

I actually enjoyed watching and listening to Beck. He brought humor and a different take to the discussion. He made good points and bad. But, when he and his crew went all Trump hate, they lost the humor and became strident. They also were unintentionally setting up Hillary as the only viable alternative.

Lost me right there. I also like Shapiro. He was also anti-Trump, but as Trump proved his concerns unfounded (mine too! So far!) he quickly changed his tune.

Beck’s philosophy is spiritually based, and Ben focuses on real world logic. This would be a good thing. Hopefully Beck will put a little coin in his pocket and still keep some airtime.

Friend of mine works in production for BS and DW and can confirm this has been discussed in detail. Not sure what they would have to gain by the takeover though considering the brand of Glenn Beck has taken a massive hit over the past 1-2 years.

Shapiro will need lessons in wailing and hand wringing if he’s taking over for Beck.

So much for Ben committing career suicide by leaving Breitbart.

No way in hell Ben brings her back: LINK

But yeah, she was great eye candy at the Rustic, that’s for sure.

Beck went full retard during the campaign and that pretty much destroyed him. Dems hate him anyway and now the right can't stand him either. His audience is comprised of a few libertarians.

I remember back in like the 9th grade he somehow convinced me that the apocalypse was going to occur... and then it didn’t, so I never listened to him after that.

Both of their goals is a full blown internet network to rival broadcasters and cable. They would have many hours of programming to fill, so there would be time for many.
