Nothing wrong with being proud of his son"? I would agree....but Biden is pimping his son's death by bringing his death up at politically advantageous times. i.e. he is using his son's death for political points. He was a Navy JAG, which usually takes a prominent professional resume' or a political connection. His father was a U.S. Senator.
I don't give a frick how he went. He was there & a high profile target.

I’m not going to downplay Beau’s service, no one should. But what Joe does is disgusting

Tough Guy Joe likes to mention his son Beau's death in military deployment terms but notice that he never clarifies the fact that his son died from cancer, not from combat.
IMHO, he does so in the hopes that people will just assume that Beau died in combat, and, frankly, if you just listened to Tough Guy Joe's narrative on the matter, you would assume that. You actually have to take the time to do research to find out the truth for yourself. Tough Guy Joe knows that most people won't do that.

Wait.
How much danger do you think a JAG Major on Camp Victory was actually in? Have you ever been there?

Just STFU. You know nothing.

Using your dead kid for political gain is disgusting. That is not a reflection at all on Beau, it's just pathetic to use the death of a child as a benefit.

Correct. Some jobs in the military are harder and more dangerous than others; it’s just a fact. Almost (it’s a bureaucracy) all of them are necessary, though. The SGM of Delta likes getting paid and likes helicopter rides and likes being furnished with good equipment. A lot of folks make that happen. Only thing that disgusts me about military service is people pretending to do something they don’t.

My status is pretty solid and I don’t support politicians using their kids service as credibility

Lol, Senator Biden's son or not, a pencil-pushing reserve JAG officer is not a high profile target.

I'm as conservative as they come but its a slippery slope to start denigrating Beau Biden's service. Regardless of his motivation, he chose to serve. While he may not have been kicking down doors, he was nonetheless in harms way to some extent and at the very minimum spent a significant time away from family serving his country. At the end of the day, there will always be someone who has done more than you have. I struggle with it myself and sometimes feel guilty that I could have done more.
I have served in the past in a support role and have also deployed in a combat arms MOS. Roughly 85% of the military is in support. It takes everyone doing their job for the U.S. military to be successful. Without question, the biggest factor in the U.S.' ability to project power is our logistical chain. We are able to supply our troops anywhere in the world. This is what keeps the fight going.
I'm slightly more tolerant of those who have served being critical of his service. However, if you never raised your hand in any capacity, then I assure you that your opinion means nothing to those of us who have. Criticizing Beau Biden's service is inappropriate. At this point, he has no control over whether it is politicized or not.

People are denigrating Biden's portrayal of Beau's service.
No one is slagging military service.
Just shows how easy it is to get people off target and the point of the discussion is lost.
Biden talked of his dead son in the same breath as the 13 dead in Kabul. The only thing in common is they were all in the military. His son was in the rear with the gear and died of cancer after returning home. He wasn't blown up.
Quit being so easily steered away from the facts.

This is a demonstrably false statement. There are several posts suggesting his service as a JAG officer or the fact that he only served for 11 months is inadequate. While criticism of the President may have been the OP's original intent, since when is it improper to respond to other posts within the thread?

He, like most other JAGs, didn’t leave the wire. I appreciate his service as much as any other troop that leaves their family for a year, so let’s just agree to thank him for that. We don’t need to pretend like he was ever in danger of life or limb. And his death, while tragic in its own right, should not be compared to the 13 that were just killed. That is pathetic political pandering
