I really like how they gave no statistics or numbers. It must have been a massive failure. Shocking.

Can't wait until all the Finns who quit their jobs thinking their gov was going to pay them to exist start running back to their employers begging to be hired back.

And when their former employers tell them to fook awff, or however you say it in Finnish, let's see the government try to correct that massive shite show ... especially with all the pissed off Muslim immigrants who made babies during their hiatus.

Can you imagine ending a social program here?? I’m more amazed they ended it once they realized it wasn’t working. Props to them. Our politicians are wayyyy too corrupt to do that. They would just keep pumping other peoples money into the program to keep the votes coming.

There's a huge difference between "Basic Univeral Income for the country's entire low income adult population" and "Basic Universal Income for 2,000 random, unemployed adults".

Huge difference, but same outcome. It doesn't work nor do they.

Yeah, it's a smaller clusterfrick with only 2,000.

Money without purpose is the problem. People derive meaning for their existence from the work they do. Remove that from the equation and no amount of money will replace what was lost.

That's a good word for it.

Hard to call it a scheme seeing as how they are ending it despite calls for more time and more money for the program. I think it was a genuine test to see if this would be a viable way to stem the labor loss that is expected to hit the market hard over the next few decades due to AI.

And Finland is lily white full of white people who work for a living with low crime rates and good fertility rates.

If they can't do it, no one can.

Our US Congress says, "If you have a bad program with goo intentions and it fails, you cannot take it away or people will get mad."
This is one reason we have so much debt. The other reasons are politicians paying off the people that control them.

I doubt any did, considering the below-poverty-level pay.
