The first announced charges against the Reiner son were Federal charges.
At the time I wondered why Federal for a crime within the state of California against Californians and by a Californian.
Were those charges because this happened so close to where and when a former President was scheduled to be?

I'm sure that Rob Reiner was planning to be very involved in the Democratic Party's campaign to win the mid-terms and discredit Trump.
