You said their govt allowed it to happen, as did ours on 9/11, as if that was somehow relevant to the discussion. If you didn't mean they deserved it what did the comment mean and how does them allowing it to happen differ from us allowing 9/11 to happen?

And what does her being a lesbian have to do with anything? I dont know anything about this lady, and am assuming youre correct about her sexuality, but why not focus on what she said that you disagree with instead of her sexual history?

And if you don't think Israel assisted us in the ME during our decades long war on terror I'm afraid you've outed yourself as a moron or a jew hater. We've never needed their boots on the ground but they've provided assistance in many other ways as anyone with a brain would acknowledge.

Muslims hatred of Jews as Jews I think is vastly overstated. It's part of Israeli propaganda to avoid actual discussion of potentially valid Palestinian claims.

That's why the constant cry of "this is a religious war," when in fact it's a territorial war.

My Jewish father lived in the Palestinian Mandate for a few years as a boy. He never had any problems with Muslims.

The problems started when Muslim and Christian Palestinians began losing their land and homes. To ignore that still simmering problem means that there won't be a solution until all Palestinians are killed...which many on this Board probably wouldn't mind.

I'm sorry. I would like to understand what you're saying.

Of course, October 7 was an inexcusable slaughter of innocent survivors. The perpetrators are all guilty of crimes against humanity. They should be hunted down and executed.

Perhaps you're correct but I hear way too many "from the river to the sea", which would require the extermination of every jew in Israel, chants from Muslims all over the world to assume they dont actually mean it. Perhaps once they've exterminated all those jews they'd leave the rest of them alone.

Overstated?

All I have to do is watch the news. Somali was going to attack Mall of America for being owned by Jews. Muzzie tries to shoot up a Jewish day care center in Michigan. Muzzie burns a Holocaust survivor to death up north. Muzzies in England kill Jews and attack synagogues on a regular basis. Iranian muzzle terrorists killed how many Jews in Argentina?

No, I didn’t. You said that and then attributed it to me. I made no comment on our government’s response prior to 9/11. Then because you’re a simpleton driven by emotion, you concluded that means I think the Israelis on 10/7 and Americans on 9/11 deserved it.

Her being a lesbian is relevant when discussing Israel’s influence on the American collective. The pervasive deviancy of today isn’t possible without secular, homosexual (and some not) Jews in media and Hollywood. All of whom regularly demand undying loyalty to the state of Israel and lobby our government to punish those who question it.

Again as multiple people have pointed out. Oct 7, was executed because it had support from western media and the left politically mainly in the U.S. and Great Britain. Something you’ll find with every intifada for the past few decades. There’s also a connection to immigration and the flood of Muslims to the west. It’s one big left wing OP that’s very easy to track, it was even predicted by some, but you guys are propagandized to micro focus on hating Israel on this one issue. You have blinders on

I don't think Oct 7th resonates with non Jewish Americans the way 9/11 did but it was still a pretty stark reminder of exactly what our enemies would gladly do to us as well, if given the chance. The same forces that want to destroy Israel also want to destroy the entire western world, including the US. Some people may not like that fact but its indisputable.

I don't want to split hairs here but I will.

The idea that Hamas views us as it does Israel just isn't reality. I'm not saying Islam and the West are compatible. I'm saying that the Palestinian conflict isn't just an Islamist vs. everybody dispute. It's not largely secularly sectarian like say, The Troubles, but it's also not the same as ISIS or AQ vs. the West.

So mapping the US onto Israel in this way isn't sensible, leads to distorted priorities and is a primary way Israel is successful in tethering us to them in conflicts. I don't argue that all that tethering is misplaced - rather that it should be judged on individualized merit (ie, is this particular thing good or bad for the realistic, not-too-speculative interests of the United States).

I think people who assess the dynamic as objectively as they can - viewing when Israel tries to align itself with us when its' direct interests are questionably invoked vs. when it asks for our alignment in the equivalent - would be very reasonable in coming away somewhat resentful. I'd say that's where I am.

That's your opinion. Other than October 7, I can't think of any occasion in the last 300 years when Muslims killed more Jews than the number of school children that we killed in Minab.

In the current conflict, Israelis have bombed more synagogues (one in Tehran) than the Iranians have (zero).

Historically, Christians have killed WAY more Jews than Muslims have. Yes, there are some Islamic texts which are anti-Jewish. They don't seem to have motivated Muslims to engage in widespread killing of Jews, though.

The Iranians don't seem to hate Jews. They oppose the Zionist State of Israel. As I said, as an American, I think we should support Israel as a Jewish state. Would the Iranians be satisfied with a viable two state solution? Probably not, but I think our foreign policy would be much cleaner if one existed.

Lol now I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or if you’re being earnest.

If sarcastic, well done. Best post of the day.

If earnest… well good luck in life buddy. Hopefully the Krauts and Japs never decide to come for your single wide.

Weiss did not say 10/7 was as important to Americans as 9/11.

If you bothered to read some of her speech, you will see what she is saying is that October 7 unleashed a wave of anti Semitism and Jew hatred in this country. We didn't see this kind of hatred towards Jews even when Leo Frank was leashed.

A hatred driven by Moslems in this country and their allies in universities and the media.

Your pathetic emotional outburst means nothing. I didn’t say anyone deserved it, but the idea that I should view what happened on October 7th in the same way I view 9/11 is ridiculous.

I am not Israeli or Jewish. During the entirety of GWOT which spawned as a result of the attack on 9/11, not one Israeli deployed to assist Americans.

So no, I will not be lectured to or manipulated emotionally about the responsibilities Americans have to Israel by a lesbian with questionable loyalties to this nation.

This all of this. I did a tour in Iraq and you guessed it ZERO IDF soldiers. I did see English (dudes were cool as hell), French, even some Central American countries but ZERO israel. Where do people like myself stand where I say screw the jews and muslims? Both hate me for being a Christian. Once calls me Goyim and the other Infidel. What are the difference between the two? None IMO so they can both kiss my arse.

I respect you. I really do, but can you link ANY western media support for October 7? Can you find a statement from any elected official in the US or the UK supporting 10/7?

I'm sure some said "given the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza, I could see that Hamas thought it was a legitimate tactic...but it was an inexcusable, illegal crime against humanity."

Even if you could find SOME support, surely you would agree that there was 90+% condemnation by US and UK media and elected officials...right?

It’s not an opinion, you just made a claim that’s completely detached from all recorded history and evidence which is something people with your opinion do constantly on this topic.

Given your screen name, you kind of HAVE to split hairs. Well stated, also.

I have a soft spot for Israel. I think there should be a Jewish state. I believe in equity for the Palestinians as well.

We should have an honest, national discussion about where American and Israeli interests converge and where they diverge. Ignoring legitimate Palestinian rights doesn't help that process.
