Now you are asking the impossible.

Simply moving the decimal almost made her brain pop.

ATT pullls $100 billion plus in revenue per year. $200 million is less than 2% of gross annual revenue

What does their revenue have to do with anything? What % of the profit was this 200 million?

They also laid off 600 or so workers. At $50,000 each, that's $300 million. And they are also likely going to profit off the repeal of net neutrality.

Money talks a bullshite walks.

Right now the Repub agenda is resulting in more money in the pockets of Americans.

And all the Democrats have is bullshite bc they are filled with piss and vinegar.

Good luck trying to figure out how to tell Americans more money in their pockets and not yours is a bad thing, dims.

Why tax them at all? Why shouldn't people like us pay all the taxes so corporations don't have to pay any?

I was with you on the first part. Why have income taxes at all?

If all income is passed thru, i.e., corporate tax @ 0%, individuals would make proportionately more and pay taxes on that money.

trickle down economics

Talking point alert
I got to wondering where the term "trickle down economics" originated. LINK

quote:

1949 H. S. Truman in Sun (Baltimore) 6 Jan. 6/1 We have rejected the discredited theory that the fortunes of the nation should be in the hands of a privileged few. We have abandoned the ‘trickle-down’ concept of national prosperity.

Official proceedings of the 1984 Democratic National Convention, possibly spoken by Dorothy Vredenburgh Bush:

"It is bad enough to have trickle down economics, but the real evil of this last four years is Republican trickle down government, and that is what we are going to change."
Interesting that "trickle down economics" seems to have originated with Democrats, not Republicans.

I originally was going to say 600 people at $50,000 over the next decade, but messed up. I'm dumb.

The point, however, is that ATT is reducing their workforce at the same time as they are giving bonuses, which is not indicative of "trickle down" economics working (or not working). The company is saving some and spending some just like companies normally do, regardless of the optics of the situation.

ATT, Comcast, and others are playing us just like politicians do. The $200 million they spend could be considered an advertising expense. Otherwise, they wouldn't have made a big deal about it.

Your theory only holds if they reduced their workforce to fund the bonus. Which they didn't.

Do you think it is helpful that the US corp tax rate was among the highest in the world? Kind of hurts competition, which hurts jobs, which hurts the "normal guy" you want to give help to.

Many things are not helpful but that's life. Clearly ATT is saving AT LEAST $200 MM. I guess that's a great ROI for the $16 MM in campaign contributions they gave last year.

No she isn't.
Cubbies is someone who has a POV, but is also open to being convinced differently.

An idiot comes here with a POV, refuses to consider rebuttal, and stubbornly sticks to a flawed argument. We do have idiots posting here.
