When people brought up arguments that the covid lockdowns would cause more harm than good people in the above tweeter’s guild (assuming he’s a progressive left wing; if he’s not I retract) accused those people of not trusting the science and mocked them for their stupidity and disregard for fellow man.

Gay men NOT having sex would have stopped AIDS early on. They waited until in was in the straight community before the half-way took it seriously. If you’ve never read Randy Shilts history of AIDS, And The Band Played On, there’s a lot in there about gays fighting the closure of the San Francisco bathhouses, even after it was proven that they were huge infection sites. So no shock that they’d resist the monkeypox measures if it intrudes on their sexual activity.
