This has always been one argument against policies such as affirmative action.
Go figure that using race as a hiring metric generates bitterness along racial lines (fueling racism, as opposed to atoning for it) and also places unnecessary scrutiny on the qualifications of truly deserving applicants who simply happen to be members of the benefiting racial minority.

Very true, sadly so. The fact that DEI Policy LOWERS STANDARDS for Black folk who compete is proof of that. It's a slap in the face to honest Black folk. I doubt that few would object to systematic help for Minorities who worked extra hard to overcome cultural handicaps to meet common and high standards. Honest and caring folk always feel sympathetic to an 'under dog'.
