What reason would you design this feature into your system?

No need to answer, we all know.

It is exactly what it looks like.

Gee, if you mailed those in I wonder which ones will make it and which ones will get lost.

Washington state Republican Chair Jim Walsh has called having voters write their party affiliation on the outside of their mail-in ballot a “questionable design decision” as some Washingtonians have raised concerns.

Walsh told Fox News Digital on Friday the requirement to declare one’s party is “codified in law” and is only for the primary, not the general election.

“The design where the attestation, the declaration is on the outer part of the envelope, that is not state law, that is a guideline, an administrative decision made by the Washington Secretary of State in conjunction with local county level election officials,” he said.

Walsh added, “That is not statutory, that’s just a questionable design decision by the Secretary of State working in conjunction with the local county elections people.”

They should check Dem on the outside, while voting for Trump on the inside.

Anyone that is pro mail in ballot for anyone other than military does not want a fair election.

File a lawsuit against the state and force them to mail secure ballots without the affiliation

The peckers in Georgia even steal those by intercepting and either discarding or changing. I am sure it happens across the nation.

Most other government divisions have been weaponized … why not the USPS?

from July 2022 :

quote:

With mail-in ballots becoming a feature of all future elections, the United States government, specifically the United States Postal Service (USPS) is now creating a permanent division inside USPS to control the delivery and return of the election ballots.

Do you know the political affiliation of your mail courier? As often said, it’s not the vote that matters, it’s the counting…. or in this instance, the collection of the votes that really matters. Democrat lawyer Mark Elias, in charge of protecting all fraudulent voting initiatives on behalf of the Democrat National Committee, is happy with the news.

Keep in mind the union representing 300,000 U.S. postal workers previously endorsed Democrat Joe Biden for president.

The National Association of Letter Carriers, is a fully compromised left-wing division of the USPS.

The USPS has just created a division of NALC employees exclusively to handle mail-in voting, just in time for the mid-term election.

Is the state legislature responsible for the design of mail in ballots in each state?

Back then the political parties were responsible for ballots. It's why the narrative that the South left Lincoln off the ballot is not true. The Republican party knew Abe had no shot in the South, so they didn't bother except around the border areas with the North.

One could still write in a candidate

If politicians were really concerned about election integrity, this is how the envelope should actually be marked:

Let me guess, once you separate the ballot from the envelope it is no longer traceable either.

So, every other piece of paper that looks like a "ballot" carries the same weight as the other.

FFS there is more accountability and tracking to buy a damn candy bar at a gas station.
