I thought it was in the constitution that we had unalienable rights to food, shelter, health care and basic income, especially for non citizens.

I grew up in a rough area and a lot of people were on food stamps. They'd by packs of steaks and sell them and use the cash to buy booze cigarettes weed. Saw it all the time

These people have gamed the system for the past 20 years without any accountability. If you give people free shite with no strings attached they have no incentive to try and be better. Government assistance should only be offered under extenuating circumstances.

I’m all for cutting out wasteful spending in every program possible and eliminating fraud, but if the government simply takes the savings and wastes it on more useless spending, it makes little difference.

Let the Christian Churches back fill the real need for help to those who really need it…..

As a Christian I think churches would be much better stewards of money. As someone who is involved with a non profit that provides meals I can say that our average cost per meal is around $4.

I hate for people to go hungry, If we are going to provide some type of assistance it should go back to delivery of shelf stable food stuffs. Rice, dried beans, canned meats and dairy. There could be boxes for adults and a smaller box for children. Nothing fancy, but sufficient to keep you fed. When people get money (EBT card) and can buy what they want, such as processed foods, candy and soda, they have zero incentive to better themselves, get a job and become independent. They also buy crap that makes them obese and then we are expected to pay for their medical issues too.

Visit your local churches, become active in your community. There are so many charitable people willing to help a family in need. Might take some humility but that might be what was missing in the first place with some of the 500,000.
