At some point self preservation is going to kick in for individual house Dems

They know Nancy and Schiff and Nadler and other like them are in no danger of being run out of office when impeachment ends badly. They on the other hand are cannon fodder in the never ending battle of getting OMB. They’ll either blindly follow Nancy to their own demise or cut and run from impeachment to save their own asses.

This impeachment debacle is going to die in the house. Dems who were elected in Trump districts aren’t going to willingly march off a cliff nor are the Dems going to turn this over to senate repubs by impeaching Trump.

If they weren’t riddled with TDS you would be correct. Lol!

There will definitely be some Dems that break with the no vote but they need a bunch to. Pretty sure they will have the votes

This would be the logical scenario (and what I believe would happen if the parties were reversed):

The 30-something Reps who will be running in Trump districts should band together and tell Pelosi / AOC / radical wing to stick it. They will all vote "present" if she brings Impeachment motions to the floor. Even if they personally support Impeachment and think they could survive such a vote, they are standing in solidarity with their colleagues in brighter red districts.

This could happen behind closed doors obviously - but if the 30-something all stand together (even though probably 20 of them would vote to impeach) none of them can be treated too harshly by the radical wing of the party.

Democrats won in 2018 by 9% popular vote on a mandate of putting Donald in check. And that is exactly what they are doing. Meanwhile, Republicans have been attempting to sweep Donald's corruption and misconduct under the rug.

2020 is going to be a blue tsunami like this country has never seen before.

They campaigned on not impeaching him and getting legislation done. Do you even pay attention? Thats why they won in 2018. It was a smart move. This throws it in the face of the voters.

They largely campaigned on checking the executive and squashing corruption in the government, which is exactly what their first bill HR1 did.

Turn off Hannity. Your brain is turning to mush.

Says the hack who uses his personal opinion to make legal allegations. My god you’re pathetic.

I sense that Nancy's perhaps a little vindictive in nature, and she has the power to go out of her way to inflict very impactful retribution upon disobedient members of her caucus.

Committee assignments and whatnot. Make them so impotent that they won't survive their constituents anyway.

I'm sure they're a bit scared of her, especially as junior members of Congress.

She’s as fake and shallow as Warren. In fact Warren is a younger, less dried out by alchohol, version of Pelosi.

I just said basically this same thing in a thread about the senate. With a 95% approval rating in the Republican Party Trump will have every republican in the senate vote no - if it gets that far.

No doubt. And I also don't think there's any doubt that she's brutal to even her own party members if they get in her way.

And in my view she is clearly leading her majority in the House right off of a very tall and steep cliff.

I think maybe a few years back she wielded power. She’s always been a big money raiser but now I think she’s a shell, maybe even a lightning rod to take the hits in some cases. It’s probly somewhere in he middle of yours and my opinion, she’s likely made a deal with the devil and struggling to maintain.

Nancy, Schiff and the Dems , wit the help of the media, really think they can convince the people Trump is guilty of impeachable offenses. They think we’re to dumb to see through them.

Particularly after Nancy said the fact that Trump sold US aid to Ukraine are "unconstestable." She's delusional.

So is Pelosi putting on an impeachment charade to appease the base knowing there is a decent possibility she won’t have the votes?

Is her bringing the vote her move for self preservation?
