I've been following him for decades. Don't forget he was one of the freshmen House managers of Slick Willie's impeachment trial. Watching how this plays out is going to decide whether the GOP commits 2024 suicide or if cooler heads will prevail.
I've been a Trump voter/"EXTREME MAGA REPUBLICAN" (according to Joey) but I can also read the political environment quite easily. The Dems aren't doing this for Trump, they're doing it to hurt the down ballot races. The smartest thing the party can do right now is to get off the hook they swallowed by nominating MAGAs for the general last November. Let the House Freedom Caucus do their thing on the state voting level and run newcomers in House races (in the other races) & people with solid conservative records for the Senate.
The party can not let Trump take it down with him. I don't care how much you love Trump you've got to take a look at how this is playing out and ensure all 3 branches are Red in 202[5]. That's the argument Asa is making. Vivek put out a great release tonight that I think both sides can get behind. I've seen him speak in person and his speeches are like Obama's but there's not much that isn't a traditional mainstream GOP position. Tim Scott is going to be a very attractive candidate on either spot of the ticket (anyone who can shut down Sunny Hostin like he did on Monday is someone I can get behind).
If you're a Republican you have to ask yourself if you're willing to let the party go down with Trump or if you want to turn DC red and finally get government close in line with flyover country. And you'll still have your MAGA House Caucus that can act as a check on the whole thing.

I voted for a Democrat against him before the Dem got term-limited.

Their is maybe a handful of people in DC with conviction, morals, and ethics the rest or just bunch of egotistical, whats in it for me people, who only care about themselves. I despise them and liars.
