Nobody gives a shite. The only math that matters is whatever the number of billions we are up to that Ukraine has taken from the American taxpayers. Add that up and then we can spice up this conversation.

I can't, neither can they, you're just a marketers dream.

The 46% should have given it away. They have no idea knowing to that degree at any moment.

What they did is guess, and they guessed over to please people like you. 45% would have been more believable, at least we know they are estimating which is all they can do.

Propaganda 101, never use multiples of 5 or 10, make up an odd number..

Yep, the first lesson of propaganda (all salesmen should know it) is when you estimate, use odd numbers so they think you actually did the math.

I can’t imagine investing emotions into defending Russia or Ukraine here.

It’s all weird.

they want to fight. let them fight. just stop mooching off the American tax dollars. I find the notion funny that we have to be involved in propping up that shithole country.

I have no problem with them fighting the Russians or vise versa. nothing to do with me. but somehow the leftist cucks, Trotskyite neocons and US government thinks I should care for some reason.

The issue with this kind of reporting is in how you define "captured territory".

In the early days, Western media worked double-plus overtime to explain how the Russian invasion failed, and failed badly.

Now it wants to use all the territory it didn't "capture" in the denominator of what it no longer controls.

Look. I don't give two shites about Russian military wins or losses. I'm not there. Maybe they are losing their arses. But the West's attempts to paint a picture of Russian failure is both transparent and pathetic.

That people who consider themselves educated parrot those talking points on a forum such as this should be an embarrassment.

I would feel sad for you, but can't. Willful ignorance for the sake of ideology is off-putting.

Do you understand the 62% (Corrected) number didn't come from the article, it just came from doing the math associated with the data from the Wikipedia article.

Which of these numbers is wrong

1) Russia controlled 16K sq miles of ukraine before the Feb 24th
2) Russia captured 46K additional sq miles after the start of the war on Feb 24th.
2) Russia controlled 62K sq miles of Ukraine at their highpoint
3) Ukraine has taken 28k sq miles back from the Russians.

Those are the only four numbers this is all based on, which of those do you disagree with?

There's about 40 different nations at war right now, we suspiciously seem to be spending money on only one.

Wonder why?

Which you believe. Bless your heart.

I'd accept a round estimate. That's believable.

Because most of us care about a war being fought close to a place most of us are from.

Most of us do not care about a civil war going on in Equatorial Guinea or Burma/Mynmar/Whatever it is called this week.

I'm not.

Why isn't your home country doing this?

We have many other wars closer to home than Ukraine.

Then the only reason you believe it should be supported is distance?

This isn't a good answer. The importance of human suffering and geopolitics aren't a function of nostalgia for the "old country".

The children of Ukraine aren't any more important than any others around the world.
